Question about Ovulation Tests (updated)
I started using an Ovulation Test kit last week. When I started there was the test line (the line that is always there) and then the result line was a faint purple. I did it all last week and the result line never got to be a dark purple like the test line. Friday was still a faint purple, Saturday was half a result line and last night there was none!! This is the first time I have used an Ovulation test so I am so confused. The result line was supposed to be as dark or darker that the test line. I went on the pill 5 years ago because I was so irregular so now that I am off (I stoped taking them in October) it is going to be so hard to determine when I might be ovulating.
Anyone else have this problem?? Any advise?

Re: Question about Ovulation Tests
I too used the kits so that I would start understanding my body more. They did work for me, however it could be the brand you are using. Have you been to your OB recently and let him/her know you are TTC? Maybe this is a good time to go. They may run some tests to see if you ovulate reguarly.

Re: Question about Ovulation Tests
just letting you know the same thing happened to me! I am pretty regular and I think I should be ovulating today but I started the sticks last week and had a faint pink line that just faded to barely nothing yesterday-i'm wondering if I just missed the LH surge. Anyway-I have some mild cramping "down below" which I usually get right before I ovulate so who knows.

Re: Question about Ovulation Tests
Most women don't ovulate every month, so it's possible that you aren't this month. When I was TTC, I used 3 things to tell when the right time was: cervical fluid-egg white means you are most fertile; the Ovulation tests; and I charted my temps to confirm that I did really ovulate. Have you tried the other 2 methods?

Re: Question about Ovulation Tests
I was just at my OB last week and he didn't give me any help. All he said is that most women ovulate anywhere between 11-18 days...well HELLO!!! I just told you I was always irregular so how am I suppose to know what day is good for me? He didn't suggest that I use a ovulation kit or suggest any tests. I know I just started trying and I should not get frustrated but it is kinda disappointing...I use this test to help me and i dont see my "window" of opportunity open..

Re: Question about Ovulation Tests
I understand what you are going through. I felt the same way to begin with, not to mention how much money I spent on OV kits. (I should of invested ) Anyway, I didn't ovulate every month, which my doctor confirmed for me. The light line meant I wasn't ovulating that month (but remember EVERYONE is different). I also used several methods of knowing when I was ovulating. The white mucus, kits and charting. There is a great OV calendar on line from webmd that I lived by and was pretty accurate for me.
Your body will get into a flow eventually... One thing I learned through the entire process was to relax. It was very difficult for me, but eventually I gave in and would do you know...

Re: Question about Ovulation Tests
You should have your LH level checked. I tend to have a high LH level which is what the test is looking for so I always have a faint line. When I am actually ovulating the line gets darker.

Re: Question about Ovulation Tests
Even though I had no line Sunday night I tried Monday and I saw the lines even darker this time. Tuesday night they were the same exact color which means I should ovulate soon. Hopefully by Christmas I should be able to report if I am preggo or not.
