Need help with paint color-pics included

I can't decide on a color to paint my dining room and kitchen. I want to paint them the same color because of the way they both flow into the same hallway that needs to be painted the same color (it shares a wall with the dining room). I really want to do a nice warm color and I had been planning on doing a golden mustardy yellow. But now I'm wondering if it will go with the kitchen. The kitchen has gray with black speckled countertops and black and white tiled backsplash. Does that go together? The floor tile is also white and gray swirls. I'm thinking it would look better with a cool color like a blue or sage green. I'm so tired of light and pastel like colors though. I was also thinking about red, but I'm not sure if it would make it look too dark since the space is not that big and since it is a townhouse the window light is limited. I could also do 2 colors in the dining room since it has the chair railing. What color do you think would look good? I added some pics from our inspection.

I would use a very light gray color, that way, you can move away from the pastels, but still have a soft color that matches with the kitchen & will look nice in the dining room.

if you want a warm color I'd opt more towards the rusty reds and oranges.....kind of like a nice brownish orangey leaf....

Personally I think a deep red color would ofset the black and white in the kitchen beautifully! But it depends on your taste.

Try to pull a color out of your counter top (very nice might I add) and see if that would carry through to the dining area.

The thing is I really wanted to do an orangey yellow, but then I started thinking that it wouldn't match with gray in the floors and in the countertops. Would it match or should I stay away from that color?

I also love red and think it would go better with the floors and counters, but do you think that would be too much red? It would be like my whole downstairs except the living room and bathroom. I'm also afraid that red would be too dark since the only light on that side of the house comes from the front door and the window in the dining room. There's no windows in the kitchen.

Maybe you can do 1/2 red either above or below the chair rail and half something else... maybe a white?
