Does anyone have any info about the following vendors:
Jack n Rose Florists
Flowers by Brian
Leonard's of Great Neck
Makeup by Oksana
Proline Studios-photography
I am getting married may 27, 2006 and i'm so stressed tryign to find vendors. I'm Indian Christian and we're having a Syrian Orthodox service where I'm wearing a white gown but for reception during dinner I will change into a sari. Any other Indian brides on here?

I don't know really anything about those vendors... sorry... Oksana is very popular on here, and she was booked for my date back in June when I contacted her, and I am the day after you.
There is an indian wedding thread on BHB, HTH..

Do a search on the Brides Review board. That will give good info about your vendors.
My uncle was married at Leonards (10 years ago) and it was beautiful. It was a middle eastern wedding and the food was excellent. There are several Leonards brides on this board.

Jack n Rose Florists - I have heard that there a little hard to deal with but if you stay very on top of them there ok
Flowers by Brian-- nothing but good things and i have friends that used them
Leonard's of Great Neck - no clue
Makeup by Oksana - this is who i booked LOVE HER
Proline Studios-photography - I meet with them but i went with Duet

i really wanted Duet but they are booked!!! Does anyone know any good photographer/videographers. i've heard 12th night but then they dont' have video so i wasnt thrilled with getting someone else who they recommend.
I want those type of pictures that basically look like I didn't take them myself, which i found a lot of hte sample proofs i've seen to look like. i would hope that anything they took would be "magazine" quality pics.

My mom is (well they call themselves Greek Orthodox, but they're Syrian Orthodox) - I grew up in the Syrian Orthodox Church!
My goddaughters are half Indian and half Syrian! SUCH BEAUTIFUL children you'll have!!!!!

Welcome to the Board!
My parents went to a wedding at Leonard's last year and loved it.
Oksana is really popular on this board so I'm sure she'll be terrific.
Proline is one of the house vendors for my hall - I have their pricing at home if you're interested but I ended up booking Duet without going in to see them.
I am Indian - my family is from Trinidad in the Caribbean. I am thinking of changing into an indian outfit during the reception but I want to order my wedding dress first before I make a decision.

You might want to look into Fine Art Photography. One of the brides (jozieb) used them and her pics are definitely magazine quality!!!
As for Leonards, I know a few brides here are using them. They've gotten mixed reviews on the boards.
OKsana, I am using her and she is great, but I would try to contact her right away as she books up very fast!!

My friend used Jack and Rose as her florist. In terms of flowers, they were beautiful. However she had so many problems beforehand that she would never recommend them to anyone. Just be aware that while the product is nice (usually), there may be other headaches that come along with it.

We are using Proline...for both video and photo...We loved there work! We did a LOT of hw for our photo and video and proline was our number 1 choice!!

Leonards has been amazing with us so far. They are so accomodating to my military husbands schedule.
I was at a wedding there recently and it was AMAZING from start to finish.
Makeup by Oksana: have heard wonderful things about it on here but have no personal experience.

I am usuing Proline (I thought they were so nice, accomodating, patient and very reasonably priced!) and Oksana (FABULOUS!)

if youre looking for someone who does both photo and video, i would try fine art photography.
here's a review of someone who used them.
jozieb's wedding pics
ETA: patken is another studio that does both photography and videography and they also do the photojournalistic style that you are looking for.

Hi I'm Syrian Orthodox too. Trying to get married in St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Merrick. Do you know anyone that has gotten married there or is going to?
