Paula Varsalona Sample Sale this week - UPDATED...I went and I think I found my dress!!!

Anyone going to check out the Paula Varsalona Sample Sale this week? I think I'm going to. If you buy a dress at a sample sale do you have to find your own place for alterations? Would that be a problem do you think???

I went yesterday. It wasn't was I was expecting...I was expecting racks of dresses and thought you'd walk out with one. They had a few you could buy real cheap - otherwise the deal is if you order it this week - Sat the 25th is the last day - you get 20% off all orders. They custom make it for you...I ended up loving the top of one dress and the bottom from another and she said they could make it for me. Also the top I loved was ultra low cut - a vneck...I asked if they could make it not quite as low and she said no problem....so I think I may bring my mom back one day this week and see what she thinks.
It's sort of nerve racking having it made and not actually trying on what I will be getting - but I just loved it! Good Luck - def. check it out! Lots of gorgeous dresses.

So here is the dress I am in love with....same top and middle...just hated the full bottom on me - so I'd get basically this exact dress but with an A-line skirt. Also I'm not a fan of the middle section in this pink color - I'd probably go all white.....do you like???

I'm still going to go to another shop and try on other dresses before I make my decision...I always had a feeling though that I might like/get the first dress I put on

I tried that dress on before choosing mine. Theu great thing is that they can change a dress anyway you want. I thought the customer service was great!

My MOH got her dress at a trunk show. She and her mom literally picked up every dress they could (I am sure that was comical) but anyway she found a dress for $400.00 (original $3000.00). Most bridal shop will do alterations without you having to buy their dress. The cost for taking it in and buttle was about $200.00 (most of it because of the buttle... all lifted up with a row of buttons at hip lever) It was really pretty.

Thanks girls! Glad to hear people say they like the dress! I should mention they didn't have this exact dress in the store....I saw it online on Paula's website before going in. Saw this and it was exactly what I had envisioned myself in. So when I got there I told them the style # of the dress I was interested in. They told me they had just sent it out on a road show or something and weren't sure when it would be back in the store. SO....they were able to let me try on a dress that had the exact same bottom of this dress...which I ended up not liking. I always thought I would want a big full skirt - but on me I just hated it. So she let me try on a dress that was an A-line skirt with that exact same middle to the dress I like...the gathered material/middle - not sure how to describe it. So I liked the A-line on me much better. Then they had the exact top of the dress in the pic above but it was more of a straight bottom...so I was able to try that on to see if I liked the top....which I did I just think I'd have her make it not quite as low cut - she said they often do it with a little more coverage. Then they put me back in the A-line skirt dress with that gathered middle.....then they took the dress with the top that is the same as this and had me put my arms into the top so I could sort of get the idea of the entire dress. SO - I didn't actually see the entire dress pictured above in one piece....which I why I'm a little worried....but the way they put me in the 2 dresses to give me the feel for what I want....actually worked and I do really think I love it/want it.

Of course I called my mom in a panic telling her I have to get at least 1 appt at another bridal shop for this week so I can say I tried other stuff on...this way if I want to order this dress I can do so by Sat and save her (my mom's paying for my dress) around $500. But she told me to relax and not rush just to save her $500...she said she'd really rather I take my time to make sure this is what I want. I just love it though. But glad that she said I can take my time.....b/c really I have not looked anywhere else yet.

Thanks for listening to me ramble...it was just exciting...I went just to pop my head in and see what the sale was all about - but I went right before 5 when they closed so there was only 1 other girl in there. I didn't even plan to try anything on....so it was a little sad that I was alone the first time I stepped foot in a wedding gown.....but it was exciting too! The ladies in the store were so nice.....they walked me all around the shop and showed me where they make the dresses...they do it all right there.

If you don't have a dress yet I def. recommend you going in there this week. Their dresses are GORGEOUS!!! They had a lot of really pretty strapless dresses but I'm big busted and hate myself in strapless.
And Backinnewyork.....I LOVE your dress too! When I saw your review I was thinking that was a style I really like too. It looked amazing on you! And I loved your Tahiti pics...I'm going there too
