OK..some questions
I was told that I am suppose to tip the DJ 20% of the total amount....isn't that a lot?
Does the florist I work with get tipped?
here is what I think I'm going to do:
Officiant - 200 gift certificate to a restaurant (he's not charging me to marry me)
Make-up- $50.00 (she's staying with me while I'm taking pictures)
photographer and videographer - (one of each) - dinner and $50-100 each (they will be with me for 8 hours
Maiter-D - $750.00 - $4.00 per person
Bridal Attendant - $100-150 depending on service
Delivery guy - $20.00
Am I missing anyone?
And is this enough?
Bridal Attendant??? I dont know if I have one of those??? Do I need one?? does the hall supply them???

It sounds like it's waaaay more lucrative than my job. $1000 for one night? That's INSANE!

I guess for L.I. it should be less? I just feel like that is a LOT of $$$$$

I think I'd like to become a Maitre'd in NYC. Do 3-4 weddings a weekend (making around $3-5K) - I'd have this wedding paid for in cash in about 2 months.
And have some sweet gambling money left over!

well, they dole the money out to their waitstaff, so they don't keep it all to themselves, but probably a good chunk of it.

I think I'm giving my officiant $50 that's what my family usually does for him and the altar servers I'll do separately.
I was told that the day of I'll have 3 Maitre'd s and there will be one that I won't even see probably. When I give one the tip it's split amongust all 3. The bridal attendant wasn't mentioned so I thought that's what they are calling that person????? Am I wrong?
My mom works w/ catering halls sometimes as wait staff she says that the maitre'd gets a huge chunk! she ends up with like nothing and all the wait staff gets soooooo pissed offf!!!! The bartenders don't care about our tips usually because the guests tip them so much they make a ton they always tell her that.

Do they still give $$ to the waitstaff is the gratuity is included in the contract? My contract includes 18 or 20% gratuity in the per person price. Isn't that for the waitstaff?

Tipping is not standard for everyone, it is totally up to you and your FH and how your vendors perform.
Personally we are not tipping the priest, organist, or the DOC.
We are not tipping anyone 20% unless it is already included in the contract.
Photog: $50 Photog Asst: $25 Alter boys $10 each DJ: $50 DJ asst: $25 Jazz Trio: $40 each member Maitre'd: $3 pp Limos: included in contract Hair: $25 for me, $15 per each girl Make-Up: $25 for me, $15 per each girl

I have a question...does the same guy who delivers bouquets to the house the same guy who drops CPs off at the hall? If not, how do you tip the CP guy?
