my FH told me to stop stressing about it and he will take care of it. That coming from the man who can't decide on our first dance song as well.

Re: is anyone else having trouble getting their fh to pick out a mother/son song???
I am having the same problem with my FH. We mentioned Wind Beneath My Wings and my FMIL started crying. We are now thinking of In MY Life by The Beatles, Do You Remember by Phil Collins or I Am Your Child by Barry Manilow. Hope this helps

Theres no getting around it. You could tell him months and months in advanced and bug him every week to pick one and he'll still wait til 2 days before your final DJ meeting. Its a guy thing...their favorite word is procrastinate....and they practice that verb like theres no tomorrow

Re: is anyone else having trouble getting their fh to pick out a mother/son song???
I asked him and he is like "umm I dunno" and I know that this is a VERY big deal for my FMIL, as it is for all mothers so I want him to pick something special. We'll see

Yes..Yes..Yes.. His mother and him have no clue and they are putting it off. I don't get it because my FH is so into music, yet this part of the wedding is like no biggy....I am the one stressing..Go figure

Re: is anyone else having trouble getting their fh to pick out a mother/son song???
We were originally gonna do a combo mother/son & mother/daughter dance to wind beneath my wings or because you loved me (no father/daughter dance because my dad had a stroke 13 years ago and is in a nursing home for the rest of his life so he can't be there ) but then I found a really beautiful song to dance with my mom to so now he has no clue what to dance with his mom to. I told him he should just dance to one of the original songs but now he's not sure...We have time but he's so indecisive at times. LOL

Re: is anyone else having trouble getting their fh to pick out a mother/son song???
I have no idea. I suggested "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban because it's sweet and it has a little "Braveheart" to it and it was immediatly vetoed...so I have no idea. All the songs FMIL likes are romantic songs, like she wants to marry her son!! EW!!!

Re: is anyone else having trouble getting their fh to pick out a mother/son song???
on behalf of the grooms out there, I'll just say that this is something we NEVER thought about until now. Y'all know how much I've been helping FW with the wedding planning (you could almost say that on the vendor side of things, she's been helping me), and some of you know I'm proudly a music nerd. And yet, I still have nothing for my mother/son dance. Heck, i'm not even 100 percent sure we're doing one (haven't talked to Mom about it... pretty sure she'll want to do it, but not definite).
For some of us, if nothing immediately jumps to mind, there's paralysis that comes with having no clue about these things and not wanting to mess it up.
I know we're slow sometimes, but we're trying, we really are.

Re: is anyone else having trouble getting their fh to pick out a mother/son song???
My FH first said he wasn't going to do a mother/son dance but I convinced him it was necessary and would mean a lot to his mom. Now he's like, "can't we just join you and your dad when you dance?" I pointed out that if we use a song that's about a father/daughter, that option wouldn't make sense. So who knows what he's going to do.

Re: is anyone else having trouble getting their fh to pick out a mother/son song???
I'm having a hard time getting him to pick our first dance let alone the mother son dance. I told him that he has to pick one, but thats all I'm doing. He can call his mom and they can figure it out. Thats one thing I'm not worrying about!

Re: is anyone else having trouble getting their fh to pick out a mother/son song???
FH wanted to do In my Life by the Beatles...and his mom kept dropping hints how much she loved Celine Dion....so he gave in and is using Because You Loved Me. He said at least he won't cry because he hates that song.

Re: is anyone else having trouble getting their fh to pick out a mother/son song???
he actually picked i hope you dance, after i sat him down and made him focus on music choices w/ me, haha.
it helped that i had like 10-15 songs already dl-ed to listen straight through a peice of each and he picked real quick. try that.
