Our Labor Day Wedding at the Crescent Beach Club, Camelot Limos, Duet Photos, Jenn Hair Genie, Kleinfeld's, Flower Barn, Barrons

We chose to have our wedding on Labor Day b/c reception hall costs are a bit more reasonable on a holiday. We had the MOST STUNNING day and it was just the most special day of my life when I finally married my high school sweetheart!

Overall, we had a wonderful experience with just about all our vendors (all from LIWeddings)- I tried to be as objective as possible in my review - tried to stick to facts rather than opinions. If you have any questions, FM me!

Hair – Jenn The Hair Genie – A Jenn was great – she arrived on time and did a great job on everyone’s hair! She’s hard to get in touch with but worth it. I gave her an A and not an A+ b/c at one point she was ready to stop working on my hair even though it wasn’t perfect b/c she was afraid my entire do would get messed up. In the end she got it literally perfect and I was thrilled – I just wasn’t thrilled at the proposition to just accept the non-perfect version originally.

Dress - Kleinfeld's - A+ I had a great experience with them! Met my expectations with everything and even gave my mom a discount on the veil even though it was not on sale.

Make-up – Myself – I used to work for a cosmetic counter for a few years at Bloomingdale’s and learned some skills that saved me lots of money!!!

Invitations – Pippy’s Sweets – B+ Diana might tell you that I was a pain to work with, but I literally gave her a picture of the invitations I wanted to recreate as closely as possible and yet, the invitation went back and forth between the two of us too many times with revisions and I had to keep referring her to the photo I sent her. She is also very busy so I tried keeping that in mind. Ultimately the finished product was worth all the effort and she was so reasonably priced that I’d use her services again in a heartbeat. I highly recommend her!

Hair Comb – Barron’s – A That place in Tri-County is great – so reasonably priced and the staff is so nice.

The Crescent Beach Club – A+ What can I say about the CBC that hasn’t been said before? It is amazing!!! The cocktail hour was outdoors and the food was just unbelievable!!! We had pina coladas in coconut shells; a margarita bar with the Mexican station, etc…Everyone raved about the drinks and food! We dealt with Bill mostly, but also dealt with Denise – they are both awesome! Campbell was fantastic – she was there for us that night for anything we needed or wanted. Stacy was great too! Our guests were just floored with the location! The ride up to the CBC gives you a peek of what’s in store – then you get there and you’re just amazed! It was unbelievable! I will post pics as soon as I can. I know when I was planning I would scour these pages for photos of the place.

Limos – Camelot Limos – A+++ Joe was definitely our favorite vendor. I’ve posted a few posts about him here b/c he continually amazed us throughout the process. Not only had he upgraded us for free for the bus, the day of the wedding he surprised us with his new stretch Escalade! I’ve heard of great vendors, but never any like him! Honestly, his prices are so reasonable (and we shopped around quite a bit) and he’s just such a pleasure to work with. Don’t even bother looking at any other limo vendors – he is great! Plus, he owns all his cars – so there’s no chance that the one you order won’t be available the day of b/c he doesn’t get them from others! He recently got a bunch of new cars so check them out!

Photos - Duet – A+ We chose Jay’s team because we liked that he was a bit more creative – although all the work we saw was beautiful. We didn’t have a chance to meet Jay until the day of the wedding and he and his team were great! So sweet, they communicated with no problems with my family and me. I have yet to see proofs, but judging from what I saw, I think we'll have some great photos! Also, they were timely, took pictures and video until 11 p.m.; were always snapping away – didn’t get lazy, etc…

Florist - Flower Barn – A+ We chose Mike because we knew what we wanted and he was able to give us a great price and exactly what we wanted. The day of, he delivered on everything he said he would. We chose very simple and inexpensive centerpieces and he did a beautiful job with them. He even made up a couple of extras for the lobby for us. He is such a great guy and we really enjoyed working with him. He’s even going to be on TV b/c this designer loved his creations!! My bouquet was beautiful and classic and I could not have been happier!

Steel Drummer – Willy Cruz – A+ He was great – got there on time – not sure what time he left b/c we were in the suite – I did hear the music and it was great!

If I think of anything else, I will add to this. I will add pics as soon as possible! Only the first photo below is from Duet - the rest are family photos..
