ahh confused about photographers

ok so we only met with one photographer so far and are going to set up more appts...but i am so confused.

how do you girls know what you need...like i have no clue how many pictures I will want. any advice/suggestions?

In my package I have 1 large rectangular album 91/2 by 13. in the album I will have 100 pages ( 50 sides), 8 pocket albums 125 thank you cards, 3 DELUXe DVD's and 2 photographers and 1 videoographer...... I think that's all I have .... i didn't need or want parent albums so I Didn't order them and got thank you cards instead.

Be sure to find out if you get digital or traditional album. Some charge extra for the magazine type style. I think 70-100 is a good number of photos in an album...just my opinion. And if you want more...you can always add. Make sure to ask how much they charge for additional pages/photos.

Also ask if you get a high resolution cd of the photos. My photographer provides that...so when all is said and done...I can make as many copies as I want...or create my own albums.

Honestly, it seemed to me that most photographers offer the same things in packages. Youreally have to decide which photographer's style you like best and which one has the best price for you!

i agree with colleen, it seemed like most offered the same package.

the one thing that i consider important is, make sure you own the rights to the pictures this way you can make extra prints and the photographer cannot use them without your permission.

O9'er crashing!! I just booked my photographer yesterday so I know how you feel. We ended up just getting digital albums (ours and parent albums). We are also getting the disc of our pictures - this was huge for me. I figure if I have the disc i can also make up prints later. I know that I don't have the patience to make albums though and once I saw the digital ones they were all I thought about!!! It really does come down to how you feel about the photographer because most will allow you to customize what you order. I highly recommend our photographer - Dan Wagner. I love his work and have heard nothing but wonderful things from past brides. Good luck!!

Great point! Most photographers have it set up this way, you always have the rights to your pics, but some dont so make sure you ask about this...

A majority of them will give you a hard time about releasing the rights to you, but if they do, push it and say thats a deal breaker...they will give up the rights if they know its the only way they can book you...

i am just confused bc like the one photographer we met with gave us a price for a very basic package (30 pics in the album along with some other stuff..but all very basic) bc he was saying you can always add more later on...but its like fh and i know that we will obv want more than 30 pics so the price he gave us really isnt accurate...i just got so overwhelmed at that appt...ahh this is my least favorite vendor!

figure out what are your "Must haves". for me, i really wanted a digital album and parent albums. i also wanted to go with a company that provided video. then i started doing research of photographers and their quotes for their different packages. the photographer i ended up booking offered a package that included this and more and is reputable on here so i figured i cant go wrong.

jen who did u go with?? im having an issuse with photo also its my next vendor to tackle,... and i loveeee sherwood but not the prices lol...im going to meet with a few different photographers and see what happens..
