Introductions Question

I know this is probably way to early to start thinking about this, but FH does not want to do bridal party introductions at the reception. I always thought it was a standard thing that everything does at their receptions. This has been something that we have argued over. He is really against it.

Is anyone not having the bridal party introduced? Is it weird to not do it?

Re: Introductions Question

I am having them introduced. I have never seen it not done but I'm sure its not necessary if he really doesn't want it. Do you think they would be insulted if you didn't?

Re: Introductions Question

I was a bridesmaid in a friends wedding in October of 2007, she did not introduce her BP, nor did they even introduce themselves, they just walked into the reception for their first dance. No one had a problem with it, and it was a great wedding.

So, no, you don't have introduce your BP.

Re: Introductions Question

i always look foward to that part, but maybe im just a sap lol im all about it, but i also care about what my fh thinks and i dont want him to feel uncomfortable during the wedding.... instead of doing the grand intro where they each walk in, maybe just have the mc verbally introduce a seated bp and then have your grand enterance? just an idea...

Re: Introductions Question

ive never personally seen it done and I really have been looking forward to being introduced at my wedding. if it was something that FH was uncomfortable doing then I might think otherwise.

He is weird when it comes to things like that, I think he doesn't want the whole walking in to loud music thing. I am just worried my bridal party will be upset and think we are not grateful to them.

I do like the idea of having a quiet introduction of a seated bridal party, or maybe even a quiet intro to the entire bridal party coming out at once.

sorry, spelling and grammar

If it really makes him uncomfortable then just explain to the bridal party why you won't be doing it. I'm sure they will understand. Its not really that big of a deal. I always thought of the intros to be the kick-off to the party (gets the crowd excited). But it totally depends on what mood you're going for.

I'm having them introduced....but if you're looking for a more laid back song maybe you should consider the intro to the Father of the Bride movie...we're using that for our parents...

Re: Introductions Question

Thanks everyone! I spoke to FH about it a little and mentioned the idea of low key intros, he seems more interested. Now just gotta figure out exactly what that means and how to do it.

We are going to try to make the intros a bit more personal. I'm not into the whole everyone walking into to pumping club music thing (it's just not my personal style...don't hate me!), so we're going to try to do songs that mean something to us and them. Still upbeat, but fun. Think like the introductions at Yankee Stadium. Something THEY want to hear as they walk in.

We will be introducting the bridal party. I really want to make sure the music is being built up for our grand entrance as a new married couple.
