My Mom ordered her dress!
At Totally You in Bellmore and at a great price! Thanks to the girls who recommended the place (StineandAndy LSorrent).. Sorry if I messed up the spelling.
I took pics but she would hate it if I posted them online so this is the dress:

She ordered it in a dark plum color which makes the sparkles stand out even more. The only thing we have to think about is alterations. She would prefer to have them done in the store b/c she feels that if they screw up, they are responsible. It's a PITA to get there from Astoria.. well it's not so bad but I have to drive her each time. Does anyone have any experience with the alterations department there?

OMG Are you serious? That's so funny! Did your Mom decide on a dress? I really liked the ones she was trying on. They looked very pretty on her. My Mom and her had the same taste (hence why I kept pointing to you guys and telling my Mom to try on your Mom's dress). LOL
ETA- And thanks, I'll tell my Mom you think she made the right choice. It was a tough decision!

No she didn't decide yet LOL She is giving me a harder time about her dress than I gave her about my dress!! Yeah, they did have similar taste and they were both picky haha
At least you have one less thing to worry about!!

She got it in Mushroom! There's pics in my album of her in it. I LOVE that dress!!!!!!
P.S. - my mom is taking her dress to her regular seamstress for alterations. She's in Valley Stream - a little easier from Astoria. FM me if you want more info.

That's so funny! I remember when you posted a pic of your Mom wearing the sample but it was in a different color. The dress looks great on your Mom. It fits so nicely and the color she got is very pretty. Thanks for the info on the seamstress. I'll FM you when we decide what to do. I think we are going to see how much work needs to be done on it and then we (or my Mom rather) will make a decision.

Beautiful dress! When I was there with my mom (she ended up ordering from another place), they were trying to sell her a dress that was a size too small for her that was discontinued (thus they couldn't order her true size). The seamstress came out and tried to convince my mom that they could just let it out. THANK GOODNESS my mom knows her stuff and took a look at the seams and saw that there was not enough room at all. After that, she felt skeptical with their seamstress.

Hahaha, yea she tried on the black sample. Is that the one your mom tried on? My mom picked up her dress last weekend - pics of her in the actual dress (HER dress) in my album.

Hahaha, yea she tried on the black sample. Is that the one your mom tried on? My mom picked up her dress last weekend - pics of her in the actual dress (HER dress) in my album.
The actual dress fits your mom so perfectly! The sample my mom tried on was called "new lavender" (a plum color) and she ordered it in that color.

Thanks! It's actually a mix of lace and some beading/sequins. It stands out more in person.
