Can't Pick a Venue!!
My Fiance and I are having the hardest time, finding the "right" venue. At first, my mother and I were looking around, but after I narrowed it down and we picked completely different places, I figured it was best to start looking together.
We want to stay on a budget up to $150 a plate. I don't want to get married at a wedding factory, either. We're from Queens, and don't want someplace that is more than an hour away (that's the max). Does anyone have any suggestions? I need HELP!

What are you looking for? Water? Gardens? Golf course? Beach?
North Ritz Club is in your price range (depending on day/time) and is a one-wedding at a time place. Might be worth your while to check out.

FH and I were really interested in Marina Del Rey in the Bronx, but it was over our budget. Don't quote me, but I think it was like $120 pp.

I was at a wedding at the New Hyde Park Inn just last month. The place is awesome & they do one wedding at a time. They have an outdoor patio & garden.

if ur from queens, maybe check out douglaston manor. ive heard its gorgeous and its definitly not too far. im pretty sure its within ur budget as well.

Old Field Club in Setauket may be an hour away (or a little more) from Queens (depending on what part of Queens). It's a beautiful RH right on the water..I have a bunch of pics in my album if you want to check them out.
eta: It is def not a wedding factory. It is very unique.

I am having my reception at Bridgeview. Like you, my FH& I had the hardest time booking a place that we loved and then we saw Bridgeview!!!! It's on the water in Island Park. I def suggest you look at it!

I second this!! They are $110pp for Friday and Sunday and $130pp for Saturday (all before tax/grat...) We're having ours on a Sunday and it came out to $141pp.

def check out The Inn at NHP.. its 1 wedding at a time and its completely renovated and new.. its also has a huge ballroom with high ceilings. its within your budget too. :)

thats true... i was coming from the farthest possible location in queens... and there was traffic because of a yankee game... and our bus driver was a moron

i would recommend the Inn @ NHP, my sister got married there last December and it was really nice. They just re-did the entire thing and the food was great too. I've also been to nice weddings at Russo's on the Bay but i think they do more than 1 wedding at a time.

The Royalton Mansion! It's gorgeous only one wedding at a time...it's so cozy and you make it your own the day of your wedding.

Anything in Suffolk County is going to be a hike from Queens. My parents live in Queens and they expressly preferred I pick a RH in Queens or Nassau County. I ruled out many places in Suffolk because of that.
Secondly, what is your budget and how adamant are you at booking a RH that is a "1 wedding only a day" deal? Very few halls have a 1 wedding event deal each day. I really don't like that my RH is considered a "wedding factory" but after visiting many RH's and comparing prices, menus, packages and locations, I thought it was the best deal....
so def need more details..

Hey if that's your budget you have SO many beautiful options...
The Hilton-Huntington for about $115/plate you can get WAYYYY more than u want! I am diong my wedding there...
The only thing is it's a canvas! so if you are spending on lighting and decor, u'll love it!
Leonards is so elegant-i heard good and bad review but in Great Neck..Very CLASSY italian look
But I also hear that your wedding isnt the only one at the same time...
Marriott-Uniondale very overpriced.
