Re: Can't Pick a Venue!!
I am getting married at Water's Edge in Long Island City, definitely in your budget and IMO, an amazing venue that is very different from most places and has views and that you can't get elsewhere. Definitely not a wedding factory either!
FM me if you'd like more info!

Re: Can't Pick a Venue!!
Can anyone offer any insight to the location of Inn At New Hyde Park? I've seen pictures of weddings held there and it looks beautiful. But looking at the location on Google Maps it seems like it's in a low commercial shopping area? Perhaps the map image is from before the renovation but I don't see a lot of greenery. Also how do you like their coordinators?

Re: Can't Pick a Venue!!
I visited Inn at NHP a few months ago, its a very nice place but you are correct that its in a mostly commercial area. There is no greenery whatsoever.
Its right down the road from Floral Terrace and if you have been to Russo's on the Bay in Howard Beach, its the same set-up. Basically a large building on a commercial plot of land. My mom came with me and immediately said she didn't like the hall because the parking situation looked like a nightmare (they do have a large lot but realistically, the street parking is just not ideal).
Its basically along Jericho Turnpike and there is literally a Burger King, Taco Bell, and Dunkin Donuts w/in a 1/2 mile distance of the RH. Plus, theres a LOT of 2 way traffic on that road so I really didn't like that you could whiz pass the RH and not even notice you passed it...
Inside however, its really gorgeous.

Re: Can't Pick a Venue!!
I guess I'm a little biased, but you should check out Glen Island Harbor Club. 2 weddings can go on at the same time, but each wedding has a seperate entrance so you will never see the bride or the other wedding.
FYI: The website does not do it justice, so I recommend going to take a look. It's in New Rochelle, so it is not that far from Queens.
Congrats and Good Luck!!!

Re: Can't Pick a Venue!!
I am biased but I have to say the Inn at New Hyde Park. I am from Queens too so I didnt want to go too far out. The prices are good and you get a LOT for the money.
Definitely check them out! And book fast cause they are booked up over a year in advance!
I just read your post about the area. Yea its not in the best area as far as greenery but that was our ONLY reservation about the place. They have a beautiful garden with gazebo in the back and honestly once u walk inside you forget all about the outside.

I responded to your other post about the Inn. You really need to look at the place, it is off a main road, but when you are in the place, you would never know. The place is so big and the grounds are beautiful! I recommend that if you interested in the slightest, you go see for yourself. The food, service and decor are wonderful. Good luck!

I completely agree with this! It is palatial inside - when you are in the ballroom, you would never know you are on a main road. The parking situation is certainly NOT a nightmare. They invested millions of dollars builing an underground parking garage and cars are promptly valeted, which is included in the price. I could go on and on about a million reasons what sets the Inn above the rest, IMO, but FM me if you have questions. I have been to events at many other places too and would recommend the Royalton or North Ritz - both also one wedding at a time. GL!

check out the royalton, inn at new hyde park, the woodlands, some of the other mansions.... hth xo
FH didn't like the woodlands ( i loved it), he thought it was too old and "depressing." I called Royalton and for a Saturday in 2011, they quoted me at $180++ (way out of budget). I called The INN and they quoted at $130-160++
I might have to go with Crest Hollow... this is sooo stressful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NYBride, What are your criterias? I have been searching for 9 months...no joke! But it is a extreme case...we don't live near the city. So I have quotes for A LOT of places. Perhaps certain places that didn't work for us can work for you.

OMG! 9 months! You're not exhausted? My attitude has been BIG time B8itchy. :( I'm so down and out about this... my life has become all about WEDDING! AHHHHH!
I would like: a nice ballroom (200 people), I would like it to be one wedding at a time, pretty grounds, possible pool or some sort of body of water, good food, and great price, MAX i want to spend is $150 (including tax and service).

I am going to say Flowerfield also based on what you just said.
It has everything you want.
Only thing is that depending on the time of year it can be more than $150... but depending on when your wedding is, it could be less.

Why dont you try De Seversky, its definitely in your budget. Also, you can try Glen Cove Mansion, they are right around 150 pp.
ETA: You may want to consider the Woodlands again, I went to a wedding there and it was the best wedding I have ever been to, the food was to die for and the service was excellent.

Try the Woodlands. 1 wedding at a time.
I live in Queens too -- the Woodlands is about 25-30 minutes away.
You can also try the Glen Cove mansion -- maybe more than $150 (depending on the time of the year).

Did you try Fox Hollow or Woodbury Country Club? Both have really nice grounds and water features. I'm not sure about the price for WCC but Fox Hollow was reasonable. I think between $80-130. HTH

Re: Can't Pick a Venue!!
Douglaston Manor, I believe is one wedding at a time. Its beautiful and definatley within your budget.
Im not sure about The Inn at New Hyde Park if its one wedding at a time but i hear its amazing there.
I love my Rh and its not far from Queens at all but they do have more than one wedding...although I have gone there to check it out when there are weddings going on, lol and its not like a "wedding factory" AT ALL, like some reception halls unfortunately turn out to be.
North Ritz club i hear is beautiful!...wish I wouldve checked it out.
I would check out the Fresh MEadow country club in Great Neck...not sure on price though.
Ohhhh...and Floral Terrace, i loveeeeee this place! for me personally though, i wwouldve wanted a little more outside grounds but this place is amazing, really!!!!!!!
