DJ Contracts

So I'm about to sign a DJ contract . . .

What am I supposed to make sure is in here?

Are you usually allowed to pic your DJ/MC first? In that case, that should be in there right?

Anything else?

Re: DJ Contracts

If you have a preference as to the person, definitely have them put it in there. We're getting CH music thrown in free, so we had them write that in there, and we also were considering adding a percussionist (if we have the $$ when we're clsoer to the wedding day) for a special price so we had them write that price in on the contract.

Re: DJ Contracts

In the event of cancellation (for whatever reason), you are entitled to a refund of deposits paid, etc...
it will usually be in there, but just read it over and make sure..

Also, make sure the total time is in there (one DJ I met with said he only provides music for 4 hr receptions and music for cocktail hr is extra).

Re: DJ Contracts

You should be able to pick out your MC.. . not your DJ.
That MC's name should be on the contract.

Contract should contain...

wedding date
location
time of party
MC
lighting package (if applicable)
additional musicians (singer, sax, drummer etc)
prices for everything
any free upgrades

that's about it. The basics shuold be on there too, refund/cancellation policy, payment dates, payment methods, etc.
