Bay View House at Captain Bill's in Bay Shore...info/opinions?

I'm considering The Bayview House at Captain Bill's in Bay Shore (even though I cringe at the thought of having to put "Captain Bill's" on my wedding invitation!) I was referred to the place by a very helpful bride (thank you mrsjpc!), but am curious to learn more about the place from others, simply b/c there's not much available about it on wedding websites. Any info would help. Capt Bill's brides, if you don't mind telling me what you paid, that would be even better! Thanks!

my cousin had her wedding there in july 2006 and it was great. the place was beautiful inside and its really nice bc its right on the water. the food and service were also great!

That's what I would do if we book it. That was a major turnoff at first but I've gotten over it.

funny story...fh took me to an anniv dinner...and it was a surprise...and then i got it out of him...and i was such a snot and was like your taking me to a place called captain bills for our anniversary?!?! i felt like such an idiot (not meaning that towards you at all) bec the place was so nice, romantic, and the food was terrific!!!!!!!!!! His friend's wife had her shower there and again, everything was great!

you would have nothing to worry about if you got married there...a bride (well now NW) had her wedding there, it was freggin stunning!

I've been to two weddings here - the food was delicious and the service was great.

The only thing I didn't like, not sure if it will apply to you - but the one wedding I attended with on-site ceremony, the ceremony room is in the same building with the restaurant, so its a bit odd having guests walk into the restaurant/bar area, and the wedding was late December so the (very short) walk to the Bay View House was FREEZING. overall, such a small thing, but worth pointing out. The wedding was still fantastic.

It wouldn't be so terrible, and I'm so very sorry if you took that as derogatory statement being that you had your e-party there. I certainly did not mean it that way. I'm as practical as a girl can get, but I still think that most would agree that Captain Bill's isn't the most elegant of titles for a wonderful and stylish place to host a function lol! Anyway, I'm simply asking about others' past experiences with core things such as food, service, etc., irrelevant of the name. Since it's tied in with Captain Bill's, it's difficult to find info online without getting the restaurant info, so that makes me extra reliant on reviews from liweddings girls, which I appreciate immensely...thank you!

My friend's shower was there and it was fabulous! The views are spectacular and the food was very good. I'd never been there before that, but it made a great impression on me.

My best friend's wedding was there in May; it was great...wonderful place fully reccommend it!

FH's Cousin's wedding was there in 2007, Food was amazing and the room is gorgeous. It was one of the venues we looked at but decided on the Swan club because we felt we were getting more bang for our buck.
