Re: I need help!

What about Douglaston Manor? I know they have a GREAT package deal through The Wedding Center. Not sure about space limitations there though. JT is also very reasonably priced, especially if you're looking at a Friday/Sunday event!

For a daytime Saturday wedding, you will get an awesome deal at Jericho Terrace. I priced a few places and for the amount of things that you get, the price is very reasonable!

I might be biased but I COMPLETELY agree with this! We're getting SO much, for a Sunday night wedding of Labor Day weekend we're paying less then $100 per head (before tax and gratuity)

yes I saved soo much with Sunday night too!! :) im glad i did my research ..

Re: I need help!

My fiance and I are in the same position as you, paying for every single thing ourselves.

We decided to have a Saturday daytime wedding in March at the Riviera in Massapequa. We are paying only 60 a person, so we thought it was a great deal for what we're getting!! Check them out definitely!!

WOW that price is fantastic. That would be an ideal price for us. How many people does the Riviera hold (if you know)Thanks!!

Re: I need help!

We had to guarantee 100 people---When we visited, the room was set up for 160 people and it looked slightly tight, so I guess anything under that would be ideal.

Definitely check it out though, they were so nice and the views are amazing and the food is great!!

Re: I need help!

I am going to Miller Place Inn and they gave me a great price! MUCH less than all the other places I went to.

I've also heard that Meditteranean Manor in Patchogue is reasonable, too. I went there for my cousin's Sweet 16 and the food was very good, too.

FM if you want more details!

Re: I need help!

best way to save money is not doing a saturday and doing it off-peak. I wish we could have done off-peak but FSIL is having her wedding in march 2010 which kindof botches all chances of that!

Re: I need help!

FH and I are paying for the wedding ourselves also. Out of all of the venues we went to the most reasonable were: Westbury Manor, Watermill and Fox Hollow. (Also, our wedding is an afternoon wedding which cut the cost a lot --- afternoons, weekdays and sundays are cheaper than friday and saturday nights btw)

Happy hunting

Re: I need help!

As the others mentioned, a Sunday day wedding can save a great deal of money. There is also the option of a Jan-March wedding when prices are quite low. Then there is the Thurs option, which saves TONS of money. I have lots of Thurs price quotes. FM me if you need them.
As for reasonably priced RH's I'd say:
1. Swan Club-
2. Fox Hollow- they gave me a great price and threw in a free night at their hotel.
3. Coral House
4. Jericho Terrace
5. George Washington Manor

Re: I need help!

I am a total bride on a budget.

I went to the Swan Club, Sans Souci, Milleridge Carriage House, Westbury Manor, Stewart Manor Country Club, Sands at Lido Beach, Harbor Club, Coral House....

If you search you can probably find all my reviews of these places. There is one place I won't say who, that both FH and I got seriously ill from their food tasting.....if you want to know details I can tell you via FM.

I booked the Swan Club on a Sunday. And I am paying $70 pp. And what I love about it is the food (their tasting was amazing), and the fact that it is secluded and it has beautiful gardens....

You should contact them and speak to Jordana!!

They have 3 different rooms & I think the Garden Room may be able to fit 150 ppl.

Leonards of Great Neck

Re: I need help!

Leonards offered me the lowest price of all the RH's I visited (almost all the ones mentioned above by other brides).

When you DO decide to book a RH, never be afraid to negotiate. They want your business more than you need to find a RH. Don't be shy about asking them to throw in things for free, etc. At Leonards I asked them to throw in the chair covers at no extra charge because I knew other RH's (namely GW Manor) didn't include it and some places charge an arm and a leg for Chair Covers..Also, I negotiated for a longer reception time.

Its the little things that add up, so before you book, write down a list of what other RH's include and don't include (bridal attendands, chair covers, valet parking, etc) and be sure to bring those points up when you place your deposit.

Good luck!

Re: I need help!

I went to a wedding at the Coral House and it was...ok. Expect to share the building with other events. I was able to book my wedding at the Watermill on a Sunday for $80 pp and they threw in a bunch of extras. My friend is having her wedding at Leonnards, again will have to share the building with a bunch of other weddings but still more elegant than Coral House. You should Definitely shop around.
